Equipped with a doctoral degree in Finance and Economics from Cleveland State University,  Dr. Tan spent his time abroad teaching as a university lecturer for Business Statistics and Finance at West Texas A&M University and for Finance at Cleveland State University, Ohio. Prior to establishing T&B Media Global, Dr. Tan was the Managing Director at Shellhut Co., Ltd., a major shell craft manufacturing and worldwide exporting company based in Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Tan has always had a strong passion for sea and aquatic creatures. In order to encourage others to express more interest in the underwater world, he established Shellhut Entertainment Co., Ltd. in 2007 as a subsidiary of Shellhut. 

 

Dr. Tan also had received the Bangkok Post CEO of the Year 2021 award in the category of "Best CEO in Innovative Creativity" from the Bangkok Post, Thailand's leading English-language media.

 

One of the most well-known creations to have come from Shellhut Entertainment is Shelldon, a famous television cartoon series that follows the adventures of Shelldon and his underwater friends. Shelldon is the first Thai animated television series to be broadcasted on NBC in the United States and has since aired in over 180 countries and translated into more than 35 languages. Over time, the company honed its specialty and reinforced it with a well-established international network of pre-production, production, and post-production partners. In 2016, Dr. Tan founded T&B Media Global, an IP management and entertainment investment company with the mission of becoming a world leader in the investment of family-friendly content and the technologies that allow access to them.
